Why Bamboo?

We all know that plastics are bad and that we need to reduce our usage.  Also plastics are made from oil which is a finite resource that we cannot continue to be reliant on.  There are many alternatives including paper, metal and glass.  So why is Bamboo the BEST alternative?

Sustainable Growth

Bamboo grows really, really, really fast.

In fact, nothing grows faster than Bamboo.  It can grown at more than 1 metre in 24 hours.  That's nearly the length of 5 of our straws from every Bamboo shoot in a single day!  That is a LOT of straws

Oxygen Generation

You can breathe easy when you use our Bamboo products.

A Bamboo forest can release up to 35% MORE oxygen into the atmosphere than trees can in the same amount of space.  This means that we can do our bit to help fight climate change by using and therefore growing more Bamboo.

Biodegradable and Compostable

Bamboo is simply a natural type of grass.  This means that it breaks down really quickly.

It takes over 1,000 years for a single plastic bag to break down to microplastics in landfill. But Bamboo is awesome. In fact, you can put all of our Bamboo products into your home composter when you have finished with them and they will break down in less than 6 months.

Super Strong

What would you say if we told you that Bamboo is stronger than steel?

No seriously, it is.  Bamboo has a high tensile strength than steel.

Believe it or not, Bamboo is one of the most used construction materials in the world. It's SO strong that it is often used instead of steel scaffolding in much of Asia.  Although it's very light it is 3 x stronger than timber!

Plastic toothbrushes are made from a blend of several different types of plastic, so they are difficult to recycle.  Therefore most end up in our oceans or sit in landfill for up to 400 years where they break down into highly dangerous microplastics.

We can start to do our bit to reduce our reliance on plastics by making swaps to sustainable products like our Bamboo Toothbrushes.
